When asked about their favourite HP movie, a lot of people will answer "Prisoner of Azkaban", and I personally have to disagree with that. Although it's a great movie, there's too many important stuff missing. I understand that a movie can never have as many details than the original book but in PoA, the Marauders are never really mentionned or explained. The only time we hear about them is when Harry receives the Marauder's Map from Fred and George.
They don't explain that they were animagi, they don't explain the nicknames Prongs/Moony/Padfoot and Wormtail at all, so if you haven't read the books there is no way you can really know who the Marauders were.
(Also Lupin's werewolf form is pretty ugly in my opinion ^^')

Ugh I know what you mean. Lupin's werewolf form was pretty ugly. I also wish there was more stuff on the marauders. I remember not really liking the film when it came out either.

which is why sometimes,really..books over films.though on the werewolf part i suppose it was realistic - they're meant to be scary snarling beasts after all..

I prefer werewolves covered in fur personally Big fluffy beasts, not this weird Gollum (I'm exaggerating a bit)

I think they did that because of Sirius being this BIG dog, and then Remus being a werewolf.. If they were both furry I think there'd be some confusion for non-book reading people? idk

I also love the book (more than the movie), but I understand how difficult it is to include everything in a book. I also think that the movie is complicated enough (what with the time travel and everything) without introducing more subplots... The time turner scenes were done quite well, and the acting done by the Marauders was fabulous... I think that's why people like the movie so much. It's definitely why I love the movie.

Hahha, yes, Dumbledore's totally not calm scene is pretty hilarious. Not sure about Michael Gambon tbh... I was reaaaally annoyed in the sixth movie when they burnt down the Weasley house for no reason, and then didn't have any sort of battle scene... Also that Teddy is barely mentioned makes me sad cause I really like him...

Ahaha. It annoyed me to no end! And they also got rid of the battle scene at the end of HBP, and the whole bit where Bill gets bitten... *sighs* True! We don't see Harry with children -at all- until the epilogue. Which makes me think I would have loved to have something from the time in between the second war and the epilogue... JK was cruel to us, hahah.

drarry I'm just replying to what you said: "I was reaaaally annoyed in the sixth movie when they burnt down the Weasley house for no reason, and then didn't have any sort of battle scene..." I thought the same thing too but then someone told me that they did that scene instead of the battle scene in HBP so that they could build up the final battle scene at the end of DHP2 and make it more intense, which kind of makes sense from a 'movie perspective' haha

Sometimes when I'm watching the movies, i expect a scene to happen (and I "remember"the scene) but it turns out I'm just remembering my imagination of the scene when I read the book. (If that makes sense)

pottersir That does make sense from a movie maker's perspective... But I mean, it was a war! There were battles being fought every day. herillusion Ahaha, yeah, the kids were cool. fydrarry That makes total sense! That must be so irritating! Usually it's the opposite way for me - I'll be watching the movie and something will happen and I'll be like 'omg I totally forgot that was going to happen!' For example watching PoA and thinking "Ooooh, yeah! They travel time! I totally forgot! This bit is so awesome!" ahaha.
