I don't know how many of you have read this article, but apparently JKR regrets putting Ron and Hermione together. Most of my ships aren't canon ships, and I'm quite happy with that. But Romione is canon, I've been shipping it since before I've known what shipping was, and I'm annoyed. I feel like she's taking it away from us. We all ship Drarry here, so we all know what it's like to have a ship that isn't canon. Admittedly, I haven't had much trust in JKR for a while (I feel like she kind of has to let go of the series instead of constantly adding more stuff), but she can't say years later that she regrets it and it wouldn't work. (Normally I don't care about which ships are canon or not, but this pisses me off for some reason. And I know I shouldn't be annoyed, because it is still canon.)

I'm annoyed at JKR's statement but I'm not too upset because like you said, Romione is still canon and she may be regretting it but she can't change it anymore.
Harry/Hermione doesn't really make sense to me, it's clear he sees her as a sister. And poor Ron, who would he be with ?

I think what's annoying me the most about the whole thing is that some of the Harry/Hermione shippers are going 'we win' or whatever IN the Romione tag on tumblr. I don't think I'd be nearly as bothered if they weren't doing that.

I personally think it's so not JKR. I mean she was used to write so many details but not putting them into the books. There's no denying that she spent years to think about how the story end. Few years later, she came out and said romione was a mistake? I'm a big drarry and romione fan, but I respect JKR. She knows the story better than anyone, but I just want more details of her regretting romione and why she decided to say it right now considering she cannot change anything about the ending anymore unless she would write another story for harry/hermione.

I wasn't there for the early fandom shipping wars, but I sure hope they don't come back. Personally, I find it a bit funny how everyone is reacting :/ I still ship ronmione more than harmony though, mostly cuz it frees up Harry for Draco

I just think it's kind of disrespectful to her countless fans. Like, she spent so long building up that relationship and it means so, so much to so many people including me. Why even publish a statement like this? I'm really, really hoping there was more context involved in it or something. From what I've seen of Emma Watson's interviews, she seemed to like Ron and Hermione together, too. I'm just confused and annoyed and like whaaat? It's also really annoying to see people going LoooOL Harmony! Because like, yeah, Ron and Hermione is still canon but the amount of Ron and Ginny hate I see because of this is getting on my nerves. Some fans are kinda crappy.

Since the actual interview hasn't been released yet this article may not be entirely true... But really... Of all the things to regret, you regret Romione??? :/

I read the article and I didn't see Harmony mentioned at all, or even hinted at??? I don't know where people keep getting harmony out of it. If it is true and she does regret it, that doesn't mean she necessarily thinks Hermione should've ended up with Harry. And if she does think that, harmony fans have every right to be ecstatic with this new info, but that's no excuse to shove it in romione fans faces. I'm not even going into the romione tag until this all dies down, because I don't want to see that crap.
I'm really hoping the article isn't true. I respect JK so much - I mean she's been my idol since I was 9. And she has a right to her opinion, if that's it, and they are her books and her characters - but at the same time it's like a knife in every romione shippers hearts and was that really necessary? I don't know. I've got conflicted feelings on the whole matter.

EDIT: Okay, reread the article, seeing now where Harmony comes in. My bad. I kind of skipped straight to the 'direct quotes' by J.K, and then proceeded to skim the rest, oops ^^;

I've been angry over this all day /sigh/
not only because I don't like the ship, but because it felt really important to have a major female character who is not the love interest of the hero/main character, but only dear friends

I agree. The thing I loved most about Harry's and Hermione's relationship was that it showed a guy and a girl can be best friends and incredibly close, without their being romantic feelings involved, and now, if the info is true, it's like that's being taken away.
