I take it granted that everyone here loved the HP books, but there's other fantastic stories out there ^^
My other favourite series of books are by Robin Hobb. She wrote the Farseer Trilogy, The liveship traders, the Tawny man trilogy and the Rain Wild Chronicles. All those books take place in the same universe called the Realm of the Elderlings.
I love this universe so much but I can't really sum up anything because there's so much to say about it !

I'm a huge lover of history, so historical fiction is a huge thing for me, particularly Philippa Gregory (inaccurate at times but still good). Wolf Hall and Bring Up The Bodiesby Hilary Mantel was good.
I really love a New Zealand author named Elizabeth Knox, she wrote two books I love, Dreamhunter and Dreamquake.
I love John Green's books, especially The Fault In Our Stars.
The Hunger Games is a huge one! I also really love the Stravaganza series by Mary Hoffman (not many other people are into it, and it disappoints me), and the Inkheart trilogy by Cornelia Funke.
Also, I'm a huge huge Sherlock Holmes fan. Anything Sherlock Holmes related I love, but I do especially love the original ACD stories.

This is horribly nerdy for me to say, but I really like some of the World of Warcraft novels. The Shattering had me on the edge of my seat just prior to the release of Cataclysm.
*Glances at bookshelf*
Neil Gaiman's American Gods is one of my most-recommended books. I have a lot of Anne Rice on my shelves, though I can narrow my favorite characters down to Armand, Marius, and Pandora. Watchmen is a lovely graphic novel (the movie's okay), especially because I really like dark themes.
I have written Lord of the Flies fanfiction.
I haven't really started reading A Song of Ice and Fire, but I'm obsessed with the television series.
Less interesting books I like include A Handbook of Fish Diseases (I was a commercial fish breeder for a while), To Engineer is Human, The Disappearing Spoon, the Calvin and Hobbes collected works, and a big stack of engineering textbooks.

John Green is a all-time favourite, he is awesome. Also i'm a HUGE Tolkien fan, so the LoTR and the Hobbit are one of my favourites. I really like the Mortal Instruments-series, the Hunger Games-trilogy, Veronica Rossi's books, Hush Hush-series, Percy Jackson-series', Divergent-trilogy, Matched-trilogy, A Song of Ice and Fire-series, The Inheritance Cycle... yes i read a lot. And i think i forgot about half of the books i like.
But one book that i will always recommend is Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys. It is an amazingly written book about love and survival, and the fact that it is partly happened in real life is heart-breaking.

I don't really have a beard or a cool red hat. My spirit animal is Holden Caulfield.

I'll admit my interests are a bit juvenile I guess, but some of my favorites are: Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (wow that's a long name), Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Outsiders, Catcher in the Rye, A Streetcar named Desire?, TFiOS, The Book Thief, The Alchemist, The Pigman, and Grape Thief. I really liked the first book of the Bartimaeus trilogy, The Wake trilogy by Lisa MmcMann, and the first two books in the Numbers trilogy by Rachel Ward were good (the third was really weird.)
I got halfway through Lolita and the Bell Jar (I need to finish them) but they were pretty good. I'm about to start Crime and Punishment. I also really like George Orwell. I can never read one book at time which is why I never finish any of them. I'm trying to get into the 'classics' so I can be well read lol.

ignoring all the major series..The Outsiders(that was the best book i had to read for sch ever)by S E Hinton,Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver(this was recommended to me & i kind of have a weakness for the redoing the same day over & over plotline.i just like the idea of what ifs being played out,i suppose, how 1 small choice could change things so much).i don't have specific books to name cos there'll be too many, but these are some of the authors i like - V C Andrews(i think she isn't very well known, sadly),Martina Cole,Dean Koontz(specifically Lightning,My Murder & Hideaway)
