I don't like mpreg either, it's to weird for me. Like said before them both being in character is a very important thing for me. I really don't like Ginny bashing or Ron acting homophobic.. also I like a fic to be as canon as possible (DO NOT SPLIT RON AND HERMIONE WTF?)
I can't read AU's because that's not drarry for me. They have this whole history together and for them to eventually fall in love they need to sort out a lot, to me AU's could be about any other two boys, they are not Harry and Draco..
I really love fics set a few years after the war, eight year fics, ewe. Some emotional baggage on both sides, yes good. I love it when Teddy is included. Like I said, as canon as possible (even epilogue compliant sometimes, because I love for them to have kids and since I don't read mpreg..)

I agree about being in character. I go nuts when the stories are very clearly 'so me and my friends were having a truth or dare party but it was actually Harry and Draco! lol!' ...Also when every single person is gay and/or hooking up with each other (the tags say: harry/draco harry/neville neville/dean dean/harry dean/seamus draco/neville or similar). It's like the possibility of heterosexuality no longer exists because yaoi. Not a fan of mpreg, but to each their own.
I like long, detailed stories with tens of thousands of words. I like healer stories, ministry of magic ones with mysteries in them, coming of age stories and auror stories. Sometimes I really like the alternative jobs that writers think up for them - I read a pretty interesting one the other day about Draco becoming an organ tuner.

Yeah, I like the weird jobs too from time to time. I read a cool one where Draco was a toy maker.
Also, word count is one of the first things I filter for in fic searches. I love a good 60,000+ word fan fiction. I almost feel like those stories, on the whole, have much better writing because they require so much planning and dedication, which tends to lend itself to better writers...of course, that plan isn't foolproof and I've read some horrendous 80,000 word fics, but generally I think it's true.

I don't like mpreg either, although I've read some good ones.
The thing I dislike the most is when they are OOC. I mean, it's okay to add attributes to a character as long as it suits that character and is made believable, but I just don't like when their personality is completely changed and their history/background erased. I don't read AU's or Amnesia fics like "Harry falls in love with a sweet, kind and adorable Draco who doesn't remember a single thing about his past, so Draco loves Harry back. End of the story. *throws confetti*".
I love angsty fics, post-HBP fics, epilogue compliant fics, fics as canon as possible, Auror!fics and fics when Teddy is included. I also love slow-building relationships. And oh my god, I have a thing for a Draco who's been in Azkaban.

Here are some likes and dislikes :)
1. I really love it when there are clear and easy to find labels or warnings in or around the summary or first page, so that when i reach 30 chapters into a story I won't have any.... surprises. No fears or tears please! :(
2. I actually like Mpreg if it's well written. Babies! :D Born of both sexy men, will be adorable children and sexy adults! Plus there's no third person, a woman, that the author could be evil enough to maybe- oh I dunno steal baby keeping rights and what not! I don't need that stress! And I dont want them to be sad if their not the real daddies :(
2.5. but also, if the Mpreg isn't we'll written or isn't explained right then I won't believe in anything, make me believe and we'll see how i review.
3. I don't like Hermione anywhere near Draco like that, I think they would make amazing friends, but Hermione needs to wear the smarty pants in her relationships (coughroncough)
4. I find myself gravitating toward DomDraco or Draco/Harry, TopDraco or however you label it--
4.5 (((That's another thing,I dislike confusion and im very confused. We need to pick one way to say all the who-what-when-where and whys and stick to it! Sometimes Draco/Harry doesn't mean Draco on Harry, but Harry/Draco is always Harry up on Draco. Can we figure somthing out, hold a meeting or something, Twitter hashtag 2014 problems?)))
--as my super OTP, I do like a good DomHarry sometimes *wiggled eyebrows* s:)
5. I dislike with a lot of dislike, changing Harry or Draco's name. If their undercover or hiding, ok, but I rather like their names and names like "Matt" or "Bob" don't suit well with them.
6. I love really good fics that make me sad but I feel happy about it :D I love it when an author can get me to cry and then I smile because it must have been pure gold and im happy that I live in a world with such fantastically talented human beings, unless your cat just sat on your keyboard then someone give that cat an Oscar! But not before Leonardo DiCaprio please

Some of these posts sort of reminded me, but another thing I like in a fic is angst. I need pain and heartbreak. If it's too easy, it's boring. If it's angsty I get emotionally involved and it gets me hooked.
However it needs to be done in the right way. It has to be just the right amount. Some go too far and add way too much drama and it's just like no please stop.
I suppose that's why Drarry is so great. They have the past that they do, that makes things automatically more angsty than it would be for others.

Haha I really agree with some of these points. I will usually read anything, but the moment it gets too mushy, I can't really continue anymore. Usually it's because they become too OOC ): The Dray thing is also annoying.. Mpreg is okay if they don't go into too much detail of how the baby is supposed to have happened or the pregnancy period.
I love the creative job type fics, I read this one where Draco is a baker and it's so cute. Sometimes I just want to read angst, the "I love you desperately, but we can't be together/you don't love me back" kind. Or the "I'm on my deathbed but I love you so much" kind of angst.
It's cute, but it kind of bothers me when the author's explanation for their relationship is that Draco had a crush on him the whole time and now we accidentally kissed and Harry loves me too now.

I prefer fics where Draco already knows he's gay as well, since I always picture Harry as the one needing more time to come to terms with his sexuality (whether he discovers he's gay or bisexual), and I think it makes the fic run a little smoother. I also like fics where Draco already knows he has a crush on Harry EDIT: I should wait until I've read everyone's comments to reply lol Angst, yes! I love angst/drama in a drarry fic, as long as it's done in the right amount. I feel like there almost has to be at least some if the fics long, or otherwise it's not quite drarry And I'm not a big fan of fics that are just fluff. I don't get into them like I do other fics where more emotions are evoked out of the reader.

I love when the two can be so mean around others, but when there's a generally sweet moment and they're alone it's perfect. It's really cute. I don't understand mpreg, and rarely read mpreg fics. But yeah it's important to remain in character.

I guess I'm one of the few who really enjoy mpreg. At first, it really weirded me out but then I read 'Things That Change' and it really changed my opinion about it. I think what makes me like mpreg is the motivation behind it. It's usually a very angsty storyline. So, yeah I really like angst. Hogwarts era is usually my thing or EWE is good. I really like Non magical AUs, forced bondings, I generally like bottom!Harry but switching is good too, and I love when address real world issues, also dark!Harry or dark!Draco.
I have a love/hate relationship with nicknames, if they serve a purpose or it's baby or bae I don't mind.
I don't like OOC, BDSM, the SM part is kind of okay, voyeurism/exhibitionism makes me cringe. I dont want to get too sexual so I'll stop there haha

I can't stand fics with children. Like if Harry already has children with Ginny or Draco with Astoria. I don't know why, but it's a HUGE nono to me. I do like if Draco and Harry have children together though (mpreg all the way!).
I don't read fics with top!Harry. It just doesn't make any sense to me, as i see Draco the more masculine of them. Also I don't like fics where Draco is completely on the light side. He is and will always be dark wizard for me.
Mostly i read fics that replace DH or 8th year/few years after graduation. I hate epilogue-compliant fics, because i don't like Ginny at all when she is with Harry. I like her as a character, i just don't think she is 'the one' for Harry.
And my first filter is word count. Almost anything under 100,000 words, -> i don't even read the summary. I really should start reading the shorter ones, but i just think that they would hook-up in the first chapter and everything will be fluffy romance from that on.. don't know where that comes from. :/

I love Ginny; I don't really like fics where she's just suddenly a bitch with no explanation. Same goes for Ron-bashing. :/ The moment Harry calls Draco 'Dray', I will close the fic even if I'm 100k words into it. It switches on something in my brain that makes me hate the whole fic on principle. True. I love fics where Harry and Ginny part ways cuz he's just not into girls and she understands. I love where She is paired with either Blaise or Neville. Oh my god I agree with you beyond words about that Dray or Drake thing. I wanna hit someone whenever I read fics like that. M Preg is hard to read but I love "Silent world within you" by Femme and Noen. It was the most brilliant mpreg fic I've ever read. I don't really like Dark fics. Not that I don't read them, I just don't re-read them once I finish them. I also dislike First person POV which made me quite reluctant to start reading and switching of POV is a big turn off too. I love creature fics like werewolf or Veela but I absolutely hate Vampire or Fae fics. The reason I like werewolf fics must be cuz of Savage by marguerite_26 and Bad Blood by Calanthe. Plus, I adore Pining/Oblivious fics

So true about Kids! Fics. My another huge turn off. I love Sara's girl but I feel like a lot of her fics has kids. So so right about Top!Harry. I don't mind Switching but I really dislike Draco being submissive. Draco may be scared of a lot of things but one person he will always be bossy is Harry. I can't see Draco being the bottom one unless they switch. ( again Sara's girl can write awesome Switching fics and I adore all Top!Draco! )

I like both top and bottom everyone, but fics where one or the other is really, really adamantly against doing one role or the other without a very good reason really tend to turn me off. Having a preference is fine, but having been in a mmf triad IRL, I don't think absolute strict limits like that is very realistic in most cases. Not to say I won't read them, I just get really bored. I get bored of lots of sex anyway; once I've read the first scene, I'll probably skim the rest of them.
