Oh my gosh you guys!!! um um i don't really know. I guess i really like Fluff and just you know the usual angst but extereme Bondage and S&M isn't really my cup of tea i mean im down with like handcuffs and shiz but other than that, it's gotta be well written for me to read it.
I'm also not big on MPREG fics, for reals i tried a couple of times but i just end up reading and snorting going like "oh please kill me"

I can't stand fics with children. Like if Harry already has children with Ginny or Draco with Astoria. I don't know why, but it's a HUGE nono to me. I do like if Draco and Harry have children together though (mpreg all the way!). I don't read fics with top!Harry. It just doesn't make any sense to me, as i see Draco the more masculine of them. So true about Kids! Fics. My another huge turn off. I love Sara's girl but I feel like a lot of her fics has kids. Haha for me it's the opposite. I love kids in fic, they're so cute, but only if they're believable.

I think for me it depends on the story... But as for Sara's Girl's fics, (especially Turn), the kids are one of the things that makes the story so great. Can somebody say Maura? I really, really love stories that fit in canon, so if they have already had their kids, it doesn't bother me too much. The most important thing is that it's written well. I've honestly never read an MPREG fic, so I can't really comment on that. I've gotta say.. I get a bit freaked out when they're like 40+... Idk, my parents are 40+ and thinking about Drarry doing the frickle frackle when they're the same age as them *shudders*

It won't let me quote ^^ so I'll put my thoughts here. When they do have kids in the fic I like them to be like fairly young. I've read some great fics where Scorpius was just a toddler. Although when the kids are older they have usually have big personalities and that usually comes with funny moments! When they are Hogwarts age (meaning Draco and Harry are 40+) I try my hardest to ignore it and just imagine them as very young fathers

I've had to do it a few times in order to stomach reading it. I feel like that's really "age-ist" or something, but I can't help it! Also if they're really young I get squicky.

I prefer when the kids are older, I'm usually difficult with kids because I think it's difficult to write credible kids. I'm sometimes ok with toddlers, like Victoria Malfoy in Secrets. I'm reading Turn and I really love teen James with his blue hair and his leather jacket that Harry bought him (And I loved Maura !)

Unless they're really really old/young, their [Draco and Harry] age doesn't really bother me. For the kids, yeah, younger is cuter, hogwarts age is okay (I'm not thinking about their parent's ages tho omg no), but if they're also hitting 20-30 ahhhhhhh!!
Edit: Well, the gang is only 36ish when their kids are 11. They're not too old.

The moment Harry calls Draco 'Dray', I will close the fic even if I'm 100k words into it. It switches on something in my brain that makes me hate the whole fic on principle. wow, that's sure extreme!haha I'm not too fond of that nickname too(or 'baby'),but I'd probably tolerate it & like just wrinkle my nose everytime I come across it.

Some of these posts sort of reminded me, but another thing I like in a fic is angst. I need pain and heartbreak. If it's too easy, it's boring. If it's angsty I get emotionally involved and it gets me hooked. However it needs to be done in the right way. It has to be just the right amount. Some go too far and add way too much drama and it's just like no please stop. I suppose that's why Drarry is so great. They have the past that they do, that makes things automatically more angsty than it would be for others. yes exactly!!I generally avoid fics which end as tragedies/with them not together(not to say I haven't read any)..unresolved angst is just not alright with me.

I don't read fics where they're old, because my mom is 37 and it feels so uncomfortable to read lemons/even near smutty things when they are the same age as my mother :s it just feels wrong.

I don't really think about my mom when I'm reading fanfic, or at least I try not to

MY parents are older so it doesn't really bother me if they're in their 30's. I think I prefer when they're teens and still at Hogwarts though

I have nearly no problems with any kind of theme although veela!drarry sometimes throws me off so hard because the get to be so ooc sometimes. I'd take mpreg over veela anytime. What I do like though is when they are like "shit yes we are rivals and equals" no fussing over bottoming or topping, like wathever happens, happens. And like isa said, humor and when they found out that the other is pretty okay. But not the mushy kind of okay. The "I still hate but at the same time I don't, scarhead/ferret" kind.

I have a thing for Singlefather!Draco raising a Toddler Scorpius and Harry comes into his life. I love this scenario too. I read a killer story awhile back where Draco is an upscale rent boy and raising Scorpius as a single father (well, joint custody with Astoria, after an amicable breakup), and Harry ends up hiring Draco while under a pretty bad disguise. I can't remember the name, but it was really well written and engaging, even if the summary sounds hokey. I'll have to try and find it again... Which reminds me - rentboy!Draco is another favorite of mine.
